THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PARABELLUM (+C Mabaya) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) GOLD DE GRACE (+S Dwayana) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 1000m KING BEIJING (+T Ncume), which commenced to over race, ran onto and clipped the heels of CHABAL (+P Nongqawa). b) Work Rider G Dadamasi accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. c) Work Rider S Dwayana was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of GOLD DE GRACE he misused his crop by striking GOLD DE GRACE more than 12 times (17) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider S Dwayana signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for five (5) Work Rider races. (Dates: 21/01/2025; 23/01/2025; 28/01/2025; 15/02/2025 & 18/02/2025) d) Work Rider S Siphika was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of SOVEREIGN CROWN he misused his crop by striking SOVEREIGN CROWN more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider S Siphika signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for one (1) Work Rider race. (Date: 21/01/2025) e) Work Rider S Siphika was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking SOVEREIGN CROWN forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Work Rider S Siphika signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for one (1) Work Rider race. (Date: 23/01/2025) f) CHABAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
