THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAMOA (D Daniels) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) BREGARDT (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) SAKHALA IS'CATHULO (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start IN THE ETHER (P Mxoli) and TOGETHER AGAIN (L Nhlapo) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between BREGARDT (C Habib), which jumped outwards and SAKHALA IS'CATHULO (P Strydom), which jumped inwards. b) SAKHALA IS'CATHULO (P Strydom) took an awkward stride at the 200m and thereafter commenced to hang in. c) Jockey P Strydom reported that SAKHALA IS'CATHULO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey D Daniels reported that he felt something amiss with SAMOA. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SAMOA (D Daniels), Trainer B Stidolph will be advised to have this mare re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) IN THE ETHER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
