Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAPPY ANALIA (S Hlengwa) was stubborn to load. b) AYUWI YUWI (*M Mbuto) and HOT PEARL (M Thackeray) were restless in the stalls. c) LE PREMIERE (R A Venniker) was slow into stride. d) HOT PEARL (M Thackeray) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 300m LE PREMIERE (R A Venniker) rolled in marginally. Thereafter LE PREMIERE (R A Venniker) clipped the heels of VISION TO ACHIEVE (S Veale) which rolled out and was straightened. b) HAPPY ANALIA (S Hlengwa) hung in from the 300m. c) Approaching the 100m WAR EMPRESS (C Maujean) was briefly tightened between VISION TO ACHIEVE (S Veale) and AYUWI YUWI (*M Mbuto) which was hanging in from the 250m and rolled in. d) CAPTAIN'S CHRISTY (S Moodley) hung in and shifted in, in the concluding stages. Jockey S Moodley reported that the bit slipped through this filly's mouth in the running. e) In view of the performance of HOT PEARL (M Thackeray) (6.65 lengths, 4/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to HAPPY ANALIA (S Hlengwa), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable on a race-day with a companion. Suspension dates: 27.12.2024 to the 02.01.2025. HAPPY ANALIA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M N Prinsloo was advised (SL). g) CAPTAIN'S CHRISTY (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Dixon advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) LA PREMIERE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 23.12.2024/07h10). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Jockey S Hlengwa weighed out at 52.8kgs, 0.5kg over the carded weight (advised 19.12.2024/08h08). b) Jockey C Habib (RUGGER LOVER) weighed out at 54.8kgs, 0.5kg over the carded weight. c) Apprentice M Mbuto (AYUWI YUWI) weighed out at 48.9kgs and was only able to claim 3.5kg of his 4kg Apprentice allowance.
