Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANDALAY (R Munger) was slow losing one length. b) STORMY LASS (C Zackey) jumped inwards sharply and CONFETTI SHOWER (D Schwarz) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BRITISH DIVA (*P Mxoli) was carried out by CONFETTI SHOWER (D Schwarz) which jumped outwards. Simultaneously FUTURE THINKER (N Klink), SUPER HOT (D David) and LOVE BITE (C Maujean) were carried in by STORMY LASS (C Zackey) which jumped inwards. This incident resulted in Apprentice Mxoli becoming severely unbalanced and dislodged from BRITISH DIVA when bumped by LOVE BITE (C Maujean). The Board after reviewing the footage to the start, was of the opinion that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider and deemed this to be a racing incident. Apprentice Mxoli was taken to the Medical Centre for observation. b) MANDALAY (R Munger) hung in from the 300m. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with CONFETTI SHOWER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey D David did not persevere with his riding from the 500m and thereafter reported that SUPER HOT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer C J Lensley was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. e) GRECIA (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Webber advised (DR). f) TIME SILHOUETTE (M Yeni), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MdP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SUPER HOT was ridden by Jockey D David (Jockey D De Gouveia - delayed due to traffic). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CONFETTI SHOWER raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 16 March 2022 at 11H40). b) MUSICAL KISS raced unshod (declared 21 March 2022 at 10H50). c) SUPER HOT raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 22 March 2022 at 07H45). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CONFETTI SHOWER moderate post race distress. b) SUPER HOT examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) LOVE BITE fatigued. d) FUTURE THINKER coughing.
