THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SWISS WALT (*D Pillay) jumped awkwardly inwards. b) EXECUTOR (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. c) COOL WINTER (K Minnie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ELLA'S DELIGHT (C Habib) was buffeted between FREDERICO'S PASSION (C Maujean) and SWISS WALT (*D Pillay) shortly after the start. b) TUSCAN GOLD (C Zackey) and FREDERICO'S PASSION (C Maujean) bumped slightly shortly after the start. c) PURPLE OPERATOR (M van Rensburg) was baulked for a clear run from the 250m to the 150m. d) The saddle on FREDERICO'S PASSION (C Maujean) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. e) Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of TUSCAN GOLD. Assistant Trainer DG Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer GD Smith was fined R1000,00. f) TUSCAN GOLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
