THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CLEVER CANDY (D Schwarz) reared in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 1000m SHEETS AND GOGGLES (A Domeyer) shifted out away from the inside running rail and had to be steadied and directed inwards when awkwardly placed on the inside of BLIND AMBITION (G Wright). b) LOUIS STAR (A Arries) was held up for a clear run between the 450m and 300m and was directed inwards to continue its run. c) In view of the performance of SHEETS AND GOGGLES (A Domeyer) (Betting 72/100; Distance 4.60 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CLEVER CANDY (D Schwarz), Trainer GS Kotzen will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) GIRL MAGIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
