Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AWAY WITH RED (C Maujean) was stubborn loading. b) GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (*D Pillay) was stubborn loading, fly-jumped leaving the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. c) LANCIAFIAMME (S Naidoo) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. d) ALWAYS SHINING (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HOUSE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly inwards and made slight contact with LANCIAFIAMME (S Naidoo), which had to steady momentarily and thereafter, bumped SEEKING THE LIFE (C Habib) inwards and unbalanced this gelding for a number of strides. b) HOUSE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey) was hanging out on the bend. c) Jockey C Habib reported that SEEKING THE LIFE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey C Maujean reported that AWAY WITH RED made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding AWAY WITH RED (C Maujean), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 31/12/2024 to 06/01/2025 inclusive). AWAY WITH RED may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) DECREE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised.
