Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AVOONTOAST (C Maujean) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FLAMBOYANT FLYER (*T Mayhew) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival of the ambulance to the start, which had attended to the injured Jockey C Habib in the previous race. b) Leaving the 200m, HAT'S QUEEN (J Penny) steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between TWOSTEP QUEEN (K Matsunyane), which was hanging in from the 300m, and the inside running rail. c) In the pull-up area, ELEMBEE stumbled badly and dislodged Jockey C Zackey. Jockey C Zackey was attended to on course by the paramedics and transported to the medical centre for further observation. This precluded Jockey C Zackey from weighing in. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, deemed his weight to be correct. d) RANI OF KITTUR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer RR Magner, was advised.
