THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOUGH TERRAIN (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 900m TOUGH TERRAIN (C Zackey) had to be steadied away from the heels of RUSSIAN EMPIRE (O Noach) when carried out by INTIMIDATOR (L Mxothwa) which raced onto the heels of AT MY COMMAND (K de Melo), was steadied and shifted out. b) RUSSIAN EMPIRE (O Noach) raced wide on the bend until approaching the 700m. c) TOUGH TERRAIN (C Zackey), which raced green and hung in badly from the 400m, proved difficult to ride in the straight. In view of this report, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) Jockey R Fourie reported WYAG made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) AT MY COMMAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
