THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ARTICUNO dislodged Jockey K Minnie and was injured while proceeding to the start, was examined by the course veterinary surgeon and withdrawn. b) DREAM SCAPE (S Naidoo) was nervous in the stalls, rushed the front gates and fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing one length. c) LILY OF THE NILE (DB Geerthsen) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls. d) EUROPEAN SUMMER (E Webber) and GLOBAL SCENE (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey K Steyn's (FREE WORLD) crop became entangled in his reins between the 250m and the 200m. b) In view of the performance of DAFNES DAUGHTER (D Schwarz) (Betting 3/1; Distance 4.45 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ARTICUNO (K Minnie) Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) LOVEGRASS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
