THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GIMMIE'S COUNTESS (C Zackey) and SUMMER LILY (O Murphy) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 250m ROCCAPINA (JP van der Merwe) was steadied and directed inwards when held up for a clear run behind SIDDELEY (G van Niekerk), which rolled out.
b)	At the 150m CELTIC RUMOURS (G Lerena) shifted out away from the crop and was straightened.
c)	When questioned, Jockey C Zackey (GIMMIE'S COUNTESS) told the Stewards that after a tardy start, he had been content to place the filly behind runners and get cover as she has a short run in. He added that approaching the final furlong of the race, she had found her stride and had closed the race off strongly. Mr Zackey was advised that the Stewards noted his explanation.
d)	ASIYE PHAMBILI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised. (TL)
