THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLD GUNNER (C Maujean) was stubborn loading. b) FUJISAN (*J Botes) jumped awkwardly with its head down, losing two lengths. c) EUPHORIC (D Schwarz) and SAND BANK (S Naidoo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FUJISAN (*J Botes) was hanging in and shifted inwards away from the crop from the 200m. b) Jockey D Schwarz reported that EUPHORIC did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) AMERICAN DREAM (C Zackey) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis) d) AMERICAN DREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
