Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	KING'S SAILOR (K Steyn) in stall gate 4 reared as the start was effected and broke through the front gates. A false start was called. Jockeys S Khathi (FRENCH IMPACT) and C Maujean (GUARDING THE WALL) were unable to restrain their mounts and bolted the course. These geldings were examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. The balance of the runners cantered a short distance, were returned tot the start and reloaded. This caused a delay.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	SILVER TYCOON recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer WGC Miller was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	The start of this race was delayed as a result of the delay in the previous race.
c)	At approximately the 1300m SILVER TYCOON (M Yeni) had to steady slightly off the heels of ABSOLU NOIR (E Webber), which shifted inwards. Jockey E Webber (ABSOLU NOIR) appeared before the Board and was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear of other runners before shifting ground in the race.
d)	SILVER TYCOON (M Yeni), which over raced in the early and middle stages, carried MASTER FORESTER (R Fourie) outwards at approximately the 1200m and thereafter, raced wide on the turn without cover.
e)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding KING'S SAILOR (K Steyn), Trainer JP Nel will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f)	EXPLOSIVE SPEED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM)
g)	MASTER FORESTER, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
