EN-ROUTE TO THE START, SILENT WAR (M K KATJEDI) LIFTED ITS RIGHT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS REFITTED BY THE FARRIER AT THE START. THIS GELDING WAS EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON AND WAS PASSED FIT TO RACE. THIS CAUSED THE DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TEXAS RED (K Matsunyane) and TRUTH (M Yeni) over-raced in the early stages. b) STORM BRASCO (S Moodley) raced detached from the field between the 1000m to the 600m, then in response to Jockey S Moodley's urgings, this gelding was able to make up ground and finished his race off strongly. c) STORM BRASCO (S Moodley) shifted both ways from the crop from the 400m. d) POMODORO'S JET (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Crawford was advised. (MDP) JOCKEY CHANGES: a) Jockey M K Katjedi was the rider of SILENT WAR (advised 11.01.2025/08h12).
