THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BARBARESCO (G Lerena) and DANTONFROMSANDTON (M K Katjedi) were slow into stride. b) I AM GIANT (K Matsunyane) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start I AM GIANT (K Matsunyane) and JUST BE LEKKER (J Penny) came together and bumped. b) In view of the performance of TAXI TO THE MOON (K A Brewer) (9.20 lengths, 28/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) BARBARESCO (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren was advised. (MS) JOCKEY CHANGES: a) Jockey J Penny was the rider of JUST BE LEKKER (advised 10.01.2025/09h28).
