THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HALCYON (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) While in the front parade ring DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (R Danielson) became restless, got loose from his Handler and bolted up the chute to the back parade ring. DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN was taken in hand, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race, reunited with Jockey R Danielson and dispatched to the start. b) In view of the performance of BEAMONESQUE (P Strydom), (distance 8,00 lengths, betting 5/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
