THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKYTRIX (T Godden), MISSISSIPPI SPICE (R A Venniker) and GRAPE SHOT (M Thackeray) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) HAPPY FORTUNE (A Mgudlwa) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 1400m MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (*M Mbuto) was steadied in anticipation of running onto the heels of JOAN THE WAD (C F Dicken) which rolled in marginally and was corrected. Jockey C F Dicken appeared before the Board and was advised to be more mindful of the proximity of other riders when shifting ground in races. c) Jockey R A Venniker reported that MISSISSIPPI SPICE took an awkward stride at the 800m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with MAURITANIA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) WOZA NAWE (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt was advised (SP).
