THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE TRADE (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading. b) BELOW DECK (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LILY OF THE NILE (K Minnie) took an awkward stride at the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey K Minnie reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. In view of these reports, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) GREEN FAME (DB Geerthsen) shifted both ways away from the crop at the 300m. c) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of LADY LUCK, weighed back in at 58.1kgs, 1.1kg in excess of the weight at which he was declared out (57kgs). d) BELOW DECK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
