THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE GRAND SLAM (R Fourie) was brushed out shortly after the start by ROCCAPINA (JP van der Merwe), which jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with CELTIC RUMOURS and he did not persevere with his riding in the closing stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. b) RASCOVA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
