Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Fair start.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	WOMAN'S WORLD was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 36 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer K Mitchley was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 38 mmol/L and that consequently WOMAN'S WORLD was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 13h11, 40/1 in the betting). WOMAN'S WORLD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised (Dr M Bawden)
b)	Shortly after the start, POETS WARRIOR (G Lerena) was ridden forward to obtain the leading position.
c)	At the 250m, MUCHO DINERO (A Domeyer) was carried out by LOVE IS A ROSE (C Zackey), which commenced to hang out and shifted out. During this incident TRIPLE TIME (R Fourie), which showed a tendency to hang out, had to be steadied momentarily. Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised that although the Stewards accepted that LOVE IS A ROSE was hanging out and that he had a tight left rein in an attempt to straighten this mare, he is required to take stronger measures when circumstances permit to keep his mounts on straight course.
d)	Approaching the 100m LOVE IS A ROSE (C Zackey) was carried in and had to be checked when MUCHO DINERO (A Domeyer) shifted in suddenly away from the crop. In assessing this incident, the Stewards were of the opinion that this incident involved a sudden movement.
e)	An Inquiry has been opened into Jockey G Lerena's ride on POETS WARRIOR in the latter stages.
f)	MUCHO DINERO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TL)
g)	LOVE IS A ROSE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised. (TL)
