Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ROUGARIN (K Matsunyane) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. As a consequence, Jockey K Matsunyane's foot made heavy contact with the left front gate.
b)	WINTER PEARL (G Wright) was squeezed out between WAR CHARIOT (M Yeni), which jumped out and EMPIRE STATE (C Little), which jumped in.


THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with CAVALRY COMMANDER and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	Jockey R Fourie reported that THE US OF A did not stride out freely in the in the closing stages. The 	Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	CARRIACOU (G Lerena) was hanging out in the concluding stages.
d)	GOLDEN DESTINY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised. (TL)
