THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, HIGHVELD STORM (+T Matsoele) became restless in the stalls, broke the front gates open and was removed from the stalls. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. b) JINGER JAM (+S Mkhumbuzi ) was slow losing three lengths. Stable Employee M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MRS WONDERFUL (+S Siphika) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. b) Work Rider T Matsoele was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of HIGHVELD STORM, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider T Matsoele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in two (2) Work Rider races. Suspension dates: 15 February 2025 and 18 February 2025. c) OKLAHOMA TWISTER (+T Lukhele), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H van der Westhuizen advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) JINGER JAM was ridden by Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi (declared 30 January 2025 at 07H46). Stipes permission. b) MRS WONDERFUL: Work Rider S Siphika weighed out at 59,6kg, 2kg over the carded weight. Work Rider S Siphika was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on MRS WONDERFUL, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer S M Naidoo. Work Rider S Siphika signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 15 February 2025. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) HIGHVELD STORM raced with a cornell collar (declared 19 February 2024 January 2024). b) ASIAN DELIGHT raced unshod (declared 24 January 2025 at 09H44) with a tongue tie on and without blinkers (declared 28 January 2025 at 10H42). c) PURSUIT OF FAME raced with a tongue tie on (declared 29 January 2025 at 09H29).
