THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RODRIGUEZ (D Daniels) jumped awkwardly losing 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) DUKE OF AFRICA (K Matsunyane) took an awkward stride at the 800m. b) At approximately the 300m ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD (GB) (S Veale) was carried in marginally by MVELELO (G Lerena) which shifted in and was immediately corrected. c) BANZAI PIPELINE (S Hlengwa) which came under early pressure, commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) DUKE OF AFRICA (K Matsunyane) hung out in the final straight. e) In view of the performance of MVELELO (G Lerena) (13.90 lengths, 5/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) DUKE OF AFRICA (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
