THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAMPSTEAD HEATH (L Mxothwa) and MY FLOWER FATE (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Riders were instructed to proceed down the straight on the bend course, as a precautionary measure, to avoid the smoke. b) DIXIELAND BAND (M Winnaar) over raced in the early stages. c) G Wright (MY FLOWER FATE) was unable to ride to the finish when close to the heels of GOODNESSGRACIOUSME (R Fourie). d) A tiring SCHOOL POLICY (C Orffer) took an awkward stride at the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) CALLMEGETRIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
