Stipes Report
THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WAHEED (R A Venniker) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, LEGEND OF ARTHUR (P Strydom) was bumped in by WAHEED (R A Venniker), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. As a consequence of this, both horses became momentarily unbalanced. b) BACCHUS (D Schwarz) hung in from the 400m. c) Approaching the 200m, GREATERIX (M Yeni) was brushed in by PARISIAN WALKWAY (D De Gouveia), which rolled in. d) Jockey D De Gouveia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he struck PARISIAN WALKWAY more than three times on consecutive strides in the concluding stages. Jockey D De Gouveia signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R5000 was imposed. e) PARISIAN WALKWAY (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
