Stipes Report

The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	During the loading process HURRICANE CAT (S Moodley) became restless in the stalls and rushed the front gate. HURRICANE CAT (S Moodley) was released from the stalls and examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon. During the interim AYUWI YUWI (S Veale) kicked the back gate and got its left hind leg caught up on the foot-rail inside its stall. AYUWI YUWI (S Veale) was released from the stalls. Both horses were passed suitable to race and reloaded. 
b)	WINGS OF JOSEPHINE (*S Bungane) was stubborn to load. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised to reschool this filly.
c)	HAPPY ANALIA (B Marx-Jacobson), HURRICANE CAT (S Moodley) and EMERALD GREEN (D Schwarz) lost 1 length.
d)	PRANKSTER (*M Mbuto) lost 2 lengths.
 
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	After a tardy start EMERALD GREEN (D Schwarz) failed to muster speed and trailed the field throughout. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
b)	In view of the performance of HOT LAVA (J Jacobs) (10.20 lengths, 50/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
c)	RANI OF JHANSI (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised (DZ).
