Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PENTOLINA (S Veale) was stubborn loading. b) ENGLEFIELD GREEN (C Orffer) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. c) LADY SPRINGFIELD (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LADY SPRINGFIELD (R Fourie), which was continually held up for a clear run in the straight, had to be steadied when close to the heels of PENTOLINA (S Veale) at the 100m. b) At the 250m PILOT FLAME (J Solomons), which was hanging in, and MY ONLY WEAKNESS (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out, made contact on two occasions. c) At the 150m GIVE ME EVERYTHING (C Zackey) shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that JET TO THE SUN changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of ENGLEFIELD GREEN (C Orffer), Trainer WA Nel will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ENGLEFIELD GREEN (C Orffer) and PENTOLINA (S Veale), Trainers WA Nel and VH Marshall have been advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. g) GIVE ME EVERYTHING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised.
