Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLDEN IDEAL (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly inwards. b) WHY NOT JACKIE (R Fourie) and BECKY SHARP (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GOLDEN IDEAL (C Zackey) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led, riderless, by a Handler. Trainer JMT Stewart was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. b) The saddle on GOLDEN IDEAL (C Zackey), which jumped awkwardly, slipped sideways shortly after the start. As a consequence, Jockey C Zackey was unable to fully assist this filly throughout. This was confirmed on the patrol film. c) Jockey K Steyn was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of TRY ME he misused his crop by striking TRY ME more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey K Steyn signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. d) EASY MONEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised.
