Stipes Report
Prior to the commencement of the Race meeting, a preliminary track inspection was conducted in the pullup area, comprising of Trainers, Riders, Stewards, Veterinary Surgeon as well as Gold Circle Race Day representatives. The track was deemed satisfactory for racing and the meeting commenced. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SANBEENEE (R A Venniker) failed to muster early speed and raced detached from the field up until the 500m where in response to Jockey R A Venniker's constant encouragement, this Filly managed to finish the Race off strongly. b) In view of the performance of ROYAL MERMAID (A Mgudlwa), (11,10 lengths and 9/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) FLYING REIGN STORM (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ROYAL MERMAID: Not striding out right front.
