Stipes Report
Light rain fell during the running of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PALERMO (K Matsunyane) Fly jumped leaving the starting stalls losing 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LORD WYLIE (R A Venniker) and TERMINATOR (S Moodley) proved reluctant proceeding to the start which led to a delay in the starting stalls being positioned on the track therefore leading to a delay to the start of the race. Trainers W Whitehead and W A Nel respectively were advised that should these geldings behave similarly in future they may be suspended. b) KIMBALL O'HARA (T Godden) was buffeted between WORLD PHAROAH (*M Mbuto) and VOLDEMORT (*N Nastili) which jumped outwards c) PALERMO (K Matsunyane) resented the kick back in the early stages of the race. d) Entering the straight, IMPERIAL POWER (S Hlengwa) was steadied out away from the heels of BENNI IN THE AREA (C F Dicken) which shifted out sharply and was corrected. e) TERMINATOR (S Moodley) was not persevered with from the 300m. In view of this report The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) ICE KINGDOM (*B Plaatjies), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer acting on behalf of Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TERMINATOR: Nothing obvious detected. b) PALERMO: Coughing. SCRATCHINGS : a) KING'S ISLAND: Mouth abscess (Trainer advised 07.02.25/10h41). Rule 53.5 applies.
