Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREEN ISLE (G Wright) jumped outwards and made slight contact with LA PULGA (A Domeyer). b) KWITE A KING (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ALADDIN'S LAMP (L Mxothwa) broke loose in the parade ring, without incident, and proved difficult to take in hand. b) GREEN ISLE (G Wright) proved difficult on parade and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer AE Sands was advised that should this gelding refuse to parade in future engagements, it may be suspended. c) KWITE A KING (C Zackey), which was assisted by a lead pony, proceeded directly to the start, without parading. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised that should this gelding not parade in future engagements, it may be suspended. d) At the 1200m ALADDIN'S LAMP (L Mxothwa), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages, had to be steadied away from the heels of GENTLEMAN JOE (C Orffer). Jockey C Orffer was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners before allowing his mounts to shift ground. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that KWITE A KING did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey G Wright reported that he felt something amiss with GREEN ISLE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with TOTHEMOONANDBACK. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) In view of the performance of MARSHALL FIELD (C Little), which was not persevered with from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. i) LA PULGA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
