Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIGHTY MAC (M Mjoka) dropped its head down as the start was effected, jumped awkwardly and made contact with the front gates of the starting stalls. As a consequence, this gelding lost two lengths. b) PRINCE OF TIBET (A Arries) jumped slow, losing one length. c) SOOTY (G Wright) jumped awkwardly inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to MIGHTY MAC (M Mjoka) in stall gate 10 and were satisfied that this gelding had not been impeded and any loss of ground was as a result of its own behaviour. b) Approaching the 600m TOUGH TERRAIN (A Domeyer) had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between ELSINORE (S Veale) and CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach), which was hanging in and shifted in slightly. Thereafter, TOUGH TERRAIN (A Domeyer) was continually held up for a clear run until the finish. c) SOOTY (G Wright) was hanging in from the 200m. d) Leaving the 100m STREET OUTLAW (JP van der Merwe) was steadied briefly and directed inwards when close to the heels of CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach) which, after being straightened, shifted outwards. e) GOLDEN DESTINY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
