THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KESARI (C F Dicken) and ANNIE'S SONG (S Veale) were slow to stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start LIKE A PRAYER (C Maujean) was bumped by CANYOUDOTHEHULA (J Botes) which in turn was bumped by PREDATOR'S SUPRISE (R Danielson) which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. b) LIKE A PRAYER (C Maujean) hung in from the 500m. c) OUR LADY FATE (T Godden) hung in from the 250m. d) Jockey K Matsunyane signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2., in that he mis-used his crop by striking ZENA ROSE in the drawn position down the shoulder in the latter stages. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. e) OUR LADY FATE (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
