THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRIZED PLATINUM (S Veale) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected GORGEOUS DUDE (*N Naastili) was buffeted between PRIZED PLATINUM (S Veale) which jumped outwards and COTTON RON (T Godden) which jumped inwards leaving the starting stall. b) DAWN SURPRISE (*S Bungane) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. c) GORGEOUS DUDE (*N Nastili) was struck by a bird on the track at the 600m. d) In view of the performance of WHEREVERILAYMYHAT (S Hlengwa) (14.10 lengths and 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) PRIZED PLATINUM (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
