THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arriving at the start Jockey's G Lerena (WING WALKER) and O Noach (MARKET TRENDS) requested that the Veterinary Surgeon examine these horses. Both were passed suitable to race. b) MARKET TRENDS (O Noach) was slow into stride. c) FLEUR DE VILLE (K Steyn) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FLEUR DE VILLE (K Steyn) and GALACTUS (C Little) bumped. b) Jockey C Orffer reported that MILITARY MESSENGER changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) FLYING FINLEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Reeves was advised.
