THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Fair start.	
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the 250m CONTINENTALEXPRESS (C Zackey) rolled out and brushed REPETITION (G Lerena).
b)	Jockey A Arries (CHOLLIMA) dropped his crop at the 250m.
c)	Leaving the 50m CONTINENTALEXPRESS (C Zackey) had to be checked and lost momentum when close to the 	heels of REPETITION (G Lerena), which initially shifted inwards away from the crop, was straightened and 	thereafter shifted in sharply and was corrected on a second occasion. As a consequence, Jockey C Zackey was 	unable to ride CONTINENTALEXPRESS to the finish and reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in the 	concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine CONTINENTALEXPRESS.
d)	PRIME VENTURE (JP van der Merwe) was hanging out in the straight. 
e)	Jockey A Domeyer reported FLY FUTURA, which failed to respond to his urgings in the straight, went amiss 	shortly after the finish line. Jockey A Domeyer dismounted and FLY FUTURA was attended to on course by the 	Veterinary Surgeon.
f)	CHOLLIMA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer GS Kotzen was advised. 	(SC)
