THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) WOODLAND GLADE (R A Venniker) over-raced in the early stages. b) FORTUNE HUNTER (*B Plaatjies) hung in from the 250m. c) Leaving the 400m UZWANO (S Veale) was carried in by THE MIKADO (C Little) which was directed inwards to continue its run. Thereafter, at the 200m THE MIKADO (C Little) was bumped out by UZWANO (S Veale) which shifted out and was corrected. d) FLYING COOL (C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G I Rich was advised (NS).
