Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHO DO YOU LOVE (A Domeyer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. b) On arriving at the start the Starter reported that the movable inside running rail and the Starter's rostrum were not in place and had to be positioned, causing a delay. Thereafter the starting stalls were tested, the field was loaded but, due to a technical problem the Starter could not effect the start and had to move to the other side of the starting stalls to effect a manual start, causing a further delay. c) There was no head on footage available in the Stipendiary Board room during the running of this race. d) The saddle on PRIMULA (K Steyn) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. e) Jockey D Ashby, the rider of LEADING PARTY, reported that this filly was hanging in badly in the straight and he did not persevere with his riding from about the 300m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) WHO DO YOU LOVE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
