THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE AS WELL AS BLAZING SKY (J PENNY) PROVING RELUCTANT TO PROCEED TO THE START AND HAD TO BE LED BY A HANDLER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLAZING SKY (J Penny) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) MISTY METAL (C Maujean) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow losing one length. c) LADY OF ARC (R Munger) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) CYBER SPIRIT (L Nhlapo) and WORLD TOUR (M Yeni) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BLAZING SKY (J Penny) proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer P F Matchett was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended. b) Shortly after the start, ACT ON SNOW (P Mxoli) and GREEN EXTREME (C Zackey) were awkwardly placed between LADY OF ARC (R Munger), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, and BLAZING SKY (J Penny), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) Apprentice V Jodhee, the rider of CHASING THE CROWN, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) LADY OF ARC (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BLAZING SKY abnormal respiratory noise. b) FINAL HOPE scalp wound left hind. c) MISTY METAL coughing post race. d) CYBER SPIRIT lame right front.
