THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOTHER CITY (L Nhlapo) was slow losing two lengths. b) GAELIC DANCER (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 400m, IN THE ETHER (R Munger) was switched in significantly to continue its run. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, this mare shifted in away from the crop. b) Jockey L Nhlapo (MOTHER CITY) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey L Nhlapo reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Apprentice G Samo-Burthia reported that RADIANT HEAT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) IN THE ETHER (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SMELTING was ridden by Jockey N Klink (declared 25 January 2025 at 08H57).
