Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The front and back number boards on the starting stalls did not correspond as the number board of the withdrawn horse (2) was still displayed on the front of the starting stalls. This was brought to the attention of the Racing Operator. The Stewards were satisfied that all horses had jumped out of their correct starting stall positions. b) Jockey M Winnaar reported that JET A ONE was fractious in the chute, proved difficult to parade and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer D McLachlan was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. c) MONEY EXTRACTOR (J Solomons) was hanging out in the straight. d) WAR HAWK (C Zackey) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) Leaving the 100m COPPER PLATE (O Noach) raced onto heels of CRAFT MARKET (GB) (C Bantam), was directed out and into clear running. f) UMFULA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
