Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SWEET NOTHINGS (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing one length. b) LADY ZULTANITE (S Khathi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HELIOTROPE (G Wright), which shifted outwards slightly and SWEET NOTHINGS (K Minnie), which shifted inwards came together and bumped shortly after the start. In this incident, the hindquarters of HELIOTROPE (G Wright) were turned inwards. b) SWEET NOTHINGS (K Minnie), which shifted inwards at approximately the 250m, was immediately corrected and directed outwards to obtain a clear run. c) Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline G on the use of the crop) in that he mis-used his crop by striking TAKE YOUR TIME unnecessarily when he was out of contention for a place. Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt and was given a warning. d) LOTUS ISLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) e) HELIOTROPE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Mkhala, acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson, was advised.
