The start of this race was delayed due to the 30-minute interval between races 3 and 4 and due to the late scratching of PRINCESS CHARMER (K Matsunyane) at the start, which refused to load. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS CHARMER (K Matsunyane) refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn. Trainer M N Prinsloo will be advised to re-school this filly. b) WINTER GLADE (M Yeni) and DYNASTY'S LAST (M Thackeray) lost 1 length. c) KAITRINA'S DREAM (*J Botes) lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) WINTER GLADE (M Yeni) and KAITRINA'S DREAM (*J Botes) failed to muster speed on debut and trailed the field throughout. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Shortly before the finish Apprentice S Bungane (CANYOUDOTHEHULA) accidentally dropped his crop. c) Jockeys C Zackey (FANTASY LEAGUE) and S Khumalo (DI ROSA) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running.
