Stipes Report

THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE.

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	OMBUDSMAN (P Strydom) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
b)	FULL GO (J R Syster) was slow losing five lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer B B Ruiters was advised (GT).        
c)	WHISTLEDOWN (N Klink) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 150m, THAMBI (S Khumalo) and VIVA DE JANEIRO (J Penny) were awkwardly placed between HUEHUETENANGO (R Danielson), which commenced to hang in, and OMBUDSMAN (P Strydom), which rolled out. Thereafter, shortly before the finish line, STORM AHEAD (*G Samo-Burthia) was carried in by OMBUDSMAN (P Strydom), which rolled in. 
b)	Jockey D De Gouveia felt something amiss with CELTIC RUSH at approximately the 400m and eased this gelding out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
c)	Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with OMBUDSMAN in the concluding stages. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
d)	Apprentice G Samo-Burthia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of STORM AHEAD, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. 
Apprentice G Samo-Burthia signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R7,500 was imposed.
e)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to FULL GO, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. 
Suspension dates: 13 April 2025 to 19 April 2025. FULL GO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B B Ruiters was advised. 
f)	HUEHUETENANGO (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

a)	THAMBI was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo (declared 11 April 2025 at 09H42).
