Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the Monty Roberts blanket having to be fitted to POSITIVE ATTITUDE (T Godden) at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHOOT THE RAPIDS (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls. b) POSITIVE ATTITUDE (T Godden) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start RAISEAHALLELUJAH (C Maujean) was unbalanced and had its hindquarters bumped by ARVERNI KING (S Veale) which was carried in by POSITIVE ATTITUDE (T Godden) which stumbled inwards leaving the stalls. Thereafter the saddle on POSITIVE ATTITUDE (T Godden) slipped backwards. This was confirmed by the video evidence. b) ARUMUGAM was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 13h17 revealed a level of over 36 TCO2. mmol/L. In terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen was collected. Trainer Roux was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 13h27 had revealed a level of over the threshold of 38 mmol/L. Consequently ARUMUGAM was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 13h39, 25/1 in the betting). c) SHOOT THE RAPIDS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Robinson was advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Jockey J P v'd Merwe (MASTER OF PARIS) weighed out at 53.3kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) No report. SCRATCHINGS : a) THE MIKADO : Elevated temperature (Trainer - 13.04.2025/08h01). Rule 53.5 applies. b) ARUMUGAM : Elevated TCO2 level.
