THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SI VELOCE (P Mxoli) lost 2 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 300m SI VELOCE (P Mxoli) and HAPPY WANDERER (S Hlengwa) came together and brushed on three occasions when awkwardly placed between PERINI PALACE (C Zackey) and PRIZED PLATINUM (S Veale). Simultaneously, PERINI PALACE (C Zackey) was steadied to avoid the heels of DAWN SURPRISE (C F Dicken), which shifted out and was immediately corrected. b) Approaching the 200m DOUBLE OLYMPIC (*M Mbuto) was switched to the outside of the field to continue its run. c) ULTRA QUICK (G Lerena) hung out from the 200m. d) ON BOARD (S Moodley) hung in, in the concluding stages. e) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with TOGETHER AGAIN in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) DOUBLE OLYMPIC (*M Mbuto), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Y Govender was advised (NS).
