THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLAZING SKY (J Penny) was stubborn loading. Trainer P F Matchett was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) QUIET WINTER (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls. c) BILINGUAL (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, DESERT CLOUD (M Yeni) and DANCE MONKEY (M van Rensburg) came together and bumped. b) In view of the performance of DESERT CLOUD (M Yeni), (distance 4,50 lengths, betting 5/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that BILINGUAL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) CAPTAIN SELVIE (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
