Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	SABRINA FAIRCHILD (W Kennedy) and NEW ORLEANS (*R Venniker) were stubborn to load. Trainers P Peter and C Hewitson will be advised to re-school their respective runners.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	QUEEN MERCURY (G Wright) was inconvenienced at the 150m and thereafter at the 50m.
b)	CASA ROSADA (*S Hlengwa) was hanging in from the 800m.
c)	Apprentice R Venniker reported that NEW ORLEANS changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d)	Approaching the 50m, CASA ROSADA (*S Hlengwa) was eased and switched to the outside of FLYING THE STAR (*C Dicken) which was hanging in and shifted in away from the crop. As a result of this incident, FAMILY FAVOURITE (A Marcus) was steadied and thereafter not persevered with.
e)	A race review was called into the above incident by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by an objection being lodged on behalf of the fourth placed horse CASA ROSADA (*S Hlengwa) against the third placed horse FLYING THE STAR (*C Dicken) on the grounds the interference in the concluding stages. After reviewing the video evidence and considering the distance of 0.05 lengths between these two horses at the finish, the Board was of the opinion that but for the interference, CASA ROSADA (*S Hlengwa) would have beaten FLYING THE STAR (*C Dicken) and therefore upheld the objection. Consequently, the Judges' provisional result was amended from 9x14x5x2x10 to 9x14x2x5x10. An Inquiry will be opened into this incident.
f) DIAMOND GIRL (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer S Ferrie acting on behalf of Trainer D R Drier advised (HM).
