THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLITTERING GIRL (G Lerena) and TYPESET (P Strydom) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 800m, ROCKETS RED GLARE (*J Solomons) took an awkward stride. b) Approaching the 300m, DAISY BUCHANAN (R Munger), which had come to the end of its run, had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between TYPESET (P Strydom) and ROCKETS RED GLARE (*J Solomons), which commenced to hang in from the 400m. c) ORARARI GOLD (M Yeni) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that GLITTERING GIRL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) ORARARI GOLD (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C J Lensley advised (GF).
