The start of this Race was delayed due to the tongue tie having to be re-fitted on DISNEY PRINCESS. JUST AN ILLUSION lost five lengths. In deciding what action to take against this filly, the Board considered her non-history at the starting stalls and the length of time which this filly stood in the pens. Accordingly, Trainer Moore was advised to re-school this filly. JOYFUL WINTER and SACRED BLUES lost one length. At the 1300m, TRIP TO FREEDOM which had come to the end of her run, was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of ICE IMPERIAL which shifted out, away from the crop. Between the 450m and 350m, MAI DANCER and PALMHEART came together, and brushed on two separate occasions. CLASS OF EIGHT raced with an awkward outward head carriage in the straight. Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with JUST AN ILLUSION in the running. Jockey Moodley reported that CENTRE STAGE was not striding out freely in the running. Jockey Wright reported that SACRED BLUES was changing strides continually in the running. CLASS OF EIGHT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WHISPERING HILL raced with ear muffs. Vet: JUST AN ILLUSION - lame left fore. Veterinary certificate required prior to this gelding's re-entry. CENTRE STAGE and SACRED BLUES - nothing obvious detected.
